Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills or staining) in one go without the need to switch out devices. They can also help save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will have impressive navigation and obstacles avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads using a dedicated dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer at a low cost and is among the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is easy, and the quick-start guide gets you up and running in no time. It comes with the complete dust bag, water tank and a hard floor.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. Its mops spin at high speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a range of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly application that lets you select the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You could, for instance ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are superb and the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only drawback is that it can smash into walls and other objects at full speed - but an instant glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed, and which obstacles it's avoided.
A large LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance jobs need to be done like emptying the debris tray and washing the water tank that is dirty. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank in a controlled manner, using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time, with the mop able to operate for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to replenish. The app is easy to use and intuitive that lets you view every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum and mop is the newest version. In contrast to the model of last year, this one features an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to remove small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners could miss.
The Roborock model, like the other two models I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it get around obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates two cameras that can recognize objects, determining whether they are walls or other surfaces. It will then automatically alter its path and clean around the objects without a pause.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which restarts the cleaning process mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child lock and a home-button that can take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank self-empties, and the bin is auto-filling.
The only issue I have found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of clever features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these smart features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery life and maintain your components. You'll need to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40

This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry mess. It comes with a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the need for a pad. The X40 is also very quiet while in use, with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
Another standout characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brushes, which allows it to get into difficult-to-access corners as well as clean furniture such as table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to access furniture with a low profile, making it a great option for smaller apartments and condominiums with small spaces. The side brush tilts automatically down when it detects wet spots. This is a great feature that helps the X40 to avoid damaging floors by repeated back-and-forth movements.
Contrary to other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.
The app is user-friendly and simple to use and the X40's intelligent features are a breeze to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress, and alert you when it is finished.
The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers many convenient features, making it a great option for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It also can detect when the mop pad is filled and alert you before it overflows, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive on the market, but it packs in many additional features that distinguish it from. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and it has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can vacuum up pet hair and other small dirt particles - as well as picking up spills and wet spots.
The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature because it prevents the growth of odours and mould in storage, and it also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is a feature we've yet to see on other robot vacuums and mop models, and it could be a great way of keeping your home hygienic for longer.
There are a lot of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleanings and change preferences. The app lets you define these preferences, or use the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has many options to customize your cleaning routine. It also comes with several features that aren't offered on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks sophisticated and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this list, but it's still not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-built.
